SEPTA BUS MAP REDESIGN
An exploration of displaying an information system using minimalisting design. Using the Bus 12 and BUS 27 maps from SEPTA (South-eastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) as a case study, this project was created to reduce clutter by removing unnecesary data while also maximizing readibility and coherence of information. These maps are designed to be placed at the bus stops themselves, where only an indicator of which buses stop there is present. The winding and hard-to-follow path is reduced to simple line forms utilizing 90 and 180 degree angles to minimize confusion. While there is no exact time the buses arrive at the tops, an estimated arrvial frequency is added. ![]() Click to view: ![]() ![]() back to top | |
